To whom it may concern,

Due to circumstances beyond our control and the new underwriting processes for event and agency insurance in regards to independent contractor laws and other considerations in the state of California, Voz Alta Studio LLC will be closing effective March 31 2024, as the final day of Voz Alta Studio supported events.

Current events

The remaining events until March 31, 2024 will continue as normal. The office will remain open, as allowed by law, to close all financial accounts including payroll and billing cycles with all talent and clients. All client accounts must be made current by May 31, 2024 or Voz Alta Studio LLC will have to process any remaining funds through small claims court in an effort to effectively close all business in a timely manner. All talent accounts will be processed on an accelerated schedule, timing with your final event and any necessary documentation such as check ins or receivable accounts.

Future events

We will be working with our talent in the coming weeks so that they may continue to serve any future scheduled events, at the talent’s discretion. We will be in touch with clients as soon as possible to share an updated calendar, invoicing and contact information for all previously scheduled and confirmed events starting April 1st and beyond. For any events in which a talent was scheduled and they wish to not continue independently, Voz Alta Studio will share event details with all active talent who will be operating independently so that you may have options and contacts for potential replacements. As we did during the temporary pandemic shut down, all active talent who will be representing themselves moving forward will be listed on our website for your contact convenience until its closure on September 1st, 2024.

Unsecured events

For any upcoming events we were discussing but had no finalized negotiations, those discussions will be continued at the discretion of each client and talent involved.

Final thoughts

We have thoroughly enjoyed serving you, our clients and talent, for nearly the last 9 years. Together, we survived the pandemic, previous insurance changes and the independent contractors law of AB5. We are truly sad to see it all go and will miss serving alongside you, enriching the lives in our community through music and art.
